The Customer Financial Services Representative position will be responsible for any or all combinations of the following: Manage assigned accounts and reduce accounts receivable balances by working with customers and the sales team. Recording customer payments, ensure payments are processed timely and within department standards and auditing guidelines. Sales tax certificate setup, validation and maintenance for new or existing customers.

Sales tax certificate setup, validation and maintenance for new or existing customers
Work individually and as a team member to achieve set collection goals and objectives
Analyze customer account to determine best solution to resolve invoicing issues and document resolution
Initiate calls to customers to secure payment for past due balances and negotiate payment plans
Process customer credit card payments
Follow Standard Work Schedule
Utilize Customer Relationship Management system (CRM) to verify and update account information
Document, track and resolve customer issues and complaints
Collaborate with all internal departments
Accurately apply/post credits and debits, deductions to invoices, cases and incoming remittances
Apply all payments before end of business each day
Communicate with internal and external customers to insure proper posting
Analyze customer accounts for discrepancies and contact customers to resolve
Work on cash on account
Complete daily and monthly reconciliation and end of Month balancing
Maintain established deductions codes
Identify and resolve payment discrepancies and record cases in CRM
Escalate cases to management
Manage the sales tax certificates email box
Receive and validate incoming sales tax certificates
Manage expiring sales tax certificates by contacting customers
Communicate internally and externally regarding sales tax certificate issues
Act as first contact for sales tax certificate questions
Generate and distribute expiration reports
Utilize CRM to create templates for expired certificate requests
Complete cases assigned to cash application queue
Act as backup for cash application team
Act as backup for Account Setup role
Act as backup for the phone queue
Requirements:
Knowledge of accounting principles, credit and collection policies and procedures, and credit risk
Strong problem solving, interpersonal, and financial analysis skills
Goal oriented, motivated self-starter, with excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks
Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills with the ability to deal tactfully, confidently, and ethically with both internal and external customers
Strong PC skills and Excel, and experience with other Microsoft Office products: Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
Associate Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
In lieu of degree, 3-5 years of related experience that yields equivalent level of knowledge, skills, and experience
Nice to have:
Directly related experience in finance or accounting and in progressively responsible positions desirable
