We are looking for a compassionate Customer Experience Specialist to join a mission-driven non-profit team in San Diego, California. Job Responsibility:
Handle incoming calls and client inquiries with professionalism, providing clear guidance, relevant information, and appropriate service referrals
Record client interactions thoroughly and in a timely manner within web-based platforms and customer tracking systems
Stay informed on current programs, community resources, and service offerings to ensure accurate support is provided
Work closely with internal departments and partner teams to coordinate solutions that address client needs effectively
Deliver a high standard of customer care in every interaction, maintaining empathy, patience, and professionalism
Use call center and customer management tools to manage communications, track cases, and support service delivery
Assist with benefit- or billing-related questions when applicable, ensuring issues are routed or resolved appropriately
Requirements:
At least 1 year of experience in a call center, customer support, or related client-facing environment
Associate’s degree preferred
additional post-secondary education combined with relevant experience will also be considered
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact clearly and professionally with diverse populations
Experience using web-based applications, CRM platforms, and standard Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Familiarity with call center or customer service systems such as Avaya CMS, Epic, ADP, or similar platforms is beneficial
Background in non-profit services, public health, social work, psychology, sociology, criminology, or a related field is preferred
Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English is strongly preferred
