We are looking for a dedicated Customer Experience Specialist to join our team in San Diego, California. As part of a mission-driven non-profit organization, you will play a vital role in connecting individuals to essential services and resources through compassionate communication and efficient assistance. This is a Contract to permanent position that offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while growing professionally in a supportive work environment.
Job Responsibility:
Respond to incoming inquiries via phone, chat, or email, providing accurate information and referrals
Accurately document all client interactions in web-based systems to ensure seamless record-keeping
Stay informed about available services, resources, and procedures to effectively assist clients
Collaborate with internal teams to address client needs and deliver timely solutions
Maintain a high standard of professionalism and empathy in all communications
Utilize CRM tools and other software platforms to manage client information efficiently
Assist clients with billing inquiries, benefit functions, or other service-related questions
Operate call center systems such as Avaya CMS to manage and monitor call activities
Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying gaps or areas for enhancement in client services
Requirements:
Associate’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred
Minimum of 1–2 years of call center experience, particularly in customer-facing roles
Background in public health, social work, psychology, sociology, criminology, or related fields is advantageous
Proficiency in CRM tools, chat platforms, and commonly used software such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey empathy and clarity
Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is highly preferred
Familiarity with systems like Epic Software, ADP Financial Services, and About Time is a plus
Ability to handle inbound calls and assist customers with a range of inquiries effectively
Nice to have:
Background in public health, social work, psychology, sociology, criminology, or related fields is advantageous
Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is highly preferred
Familiarity with systems like Epic Software, ADP Financial Services, and About Time is a plus
