We are looking for a compassionate Customer Experience Specialist to support individuals seeking guidance and services through a mission-driven non-profit organization in San Diego, California. In this role, you will serve as a key point of contact, helping callers access information, resources, and next steps while delivering thoughtful and attentive service.
Job Responsibility:
Handle incoming calls and respond to questions with clear, helpful guidance tailored to each caller’s needs
Record conversations, outcomes, and follow-up details accurately in web-based platforms and customer management systems
Connect individuals with appropriate programs, community resources, or internal support services based on their circumstances
Work closely with colleagues across departments to resolve concerns and ensure timely assistance for clients
Maintain current knowledge of organizational services, eligibility details, and available support options
Provide a high level of care, courtesy, and empathy in every phone and written interaction
Use call center and customer service tools effectively, including CRM platforms and communication systems, to manage daily tasks
Support service-related inquiries such as benefits, billing, and general account questions as needed
Requirements:
At least 1 year of experience in a call center, customer support, or similar service-focused environment
Associate’s degree preferred, or a combination of post-secondary education and relevant experience
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively and compassionately
Proficiency with web-based applications, chat tools, and Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Experience working with customer service or contact center systems such as CRM tools and inbound call platforms is preferred
Background in public health, social services, psychology, sociology, criminology, or a related field is a plus
Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English is strongly preferred
