We are currently looking for a Customer Development Partner for one of the world's most prestigious Wine & Spirits MNCs, renowned for an iconic portfolio of premium cognac, whisky, and white spirits brands. Unlike typical single-channel roles, this position allows you to manage a hybrid portfolio covering both On-Trade (Nightlife/HORECA) and Off-Trade (Retail/Hypermarkets) in the Northern region. Reporting to: Sales Manager. Team size: sole contributor. Under this high-octane commercial role, you will be the brand ambassador for an iconic portfolio of cognac, whisky, and spirits, ensuring dominance across Penang’s diverse market.
Job Responsibility:
Manage a Dual Portfolio: oversee a mix of accounts ranging from high-energy Nightclubs, Bars, and KTVs to structured Hypermarkets and Supermarkets
Off-Trade Excellence: Ensure stock availability, planogram compliance, and superior shelf visibility in retail outlets during the day
On-Trade Dominance: Build relationships with business owners and influencers in the nightlife scene, securing pouring contracts and driving brand activation in the evenings
Territory Ownership: Take freehand of your territory in Penang, analyzing market trends and competitor activities to deliver commercial growth
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of FMCG sales experience
Experience in the On-Trade (HORECA) and/or Modern-Trade sector is desirable
Candidates from non-FMCG backgrounds with a strong interest towards the alcohol industry and solid commercial acumen are encouraged to apply
Candidates must be comfortable with business entertainment and occasional late-night working hours
