The CD Director for Unilever Chile is responsible for defining and executing the country’s Customer Development vision & strategy, maximizing business opportunities, leading a high-performance team, and building strategic partnerships with key customers. This role translates category priorities into channel strategies into Joint Business Plans that deliver sustainable growth, competitive and profitable growth. The role is responsible for driving a continuous transformation agenda to ensure best in class operation through technology and skilled teams.
Job Responsibility:
Craft a longterm CD vision for Chile, integrating category strategies, retailer strategy, shopper insights and competitive landscape
Communicate the vision effectively to ensure organizational alignment and engagement
Ensure best in class execution of the CD agenda, ensuring brilliant basics, channel strategy, customer infrastructure, and disciplined operating routines
Guarantee high-quality, consistent execution across the country
Lead competitive strategy for Distributive Trade, Modern Trade, and eCommerce
Define channel segmentation, shopper missions, and deliver robust 6Ps strategies to strengthen availability, visibility, and performance
Maximize impact across the shopper path to purchase, ensuring the business wins at every key touchpoint
Drive superior execution fundamentals: distribution, pricing, shelf presence, promotional effectiveness, and in‑store activation
Enable disruptive, insight-based interventions that enhance conversion and strengthen brand equity at point of sale
Design and optimize the Trade Investment Plan by channel to ensure: efficient allocation of resources, clear ROI, alignment with strategic priorities, and long‑term business sustainability
Build strong, influential, and trusted relationships with key retail partners
Position Unilever as the preferred partner for joint business growth, shaping strategic agendas with customers
Lead complex negotiations, ensuring investment are in line with priorities
Build, develop, and retain a high performing and collaborative CD team
Strengthen futurefit capabilities in: datadriven decision making, Net Revenue Management, eCommerce, Perfect Store
Ensure a robust talent and succession pipeline for key leadership roles in CD
Provide strong strategic leadership, navigating complexity with sound judgment and influence
Anticipate risks, manage uncertainty, and mobilize the organization to deliver results with excellence
Requirements:
15+ years of commercial experience, ideally managing a CD organization. Having led teams in Distributive Trade, Modern Trade, H&B Channel, eCom, Category & Brand Management, Channel & Category Development, Customer Strategy & Planning, Business Intelligence
Proven track record leading large, diverse teams in dynamic environments
Strong capability in building senior customer relationships, leading negotiation processes
Proven track in delivering commercial transformation
High digital fluency, strong financial acumen, and analytical rigor
Highly collaborative leadership style, able to work across multiple functions
Experience managing complex commercial structures, including distributors
