This role will be a key member of the BlackRock Multi-Asset Strategies & Solutions – Custom Models Solutions (CMS) team, supporting the High-Net-Worth (HNW) Pillar. The team works alongside CMS Client Portfolio Managers and focuses on commercializing BlackRock’s suite of HNW solutions through custom model portfolios. The widespread adoption of Model Portfolios is one of the most significant evolutions in the Wealth Management industry over the last decade! As the industry drives towards greater simplicity, clarity, cost efficiency, and goals-based financial planning, the CMS Business is uniquely positioned to support advisors and accelerate the adoption of model portfolios. Through CMS, BlackRock is driving the industry’s model portfolio innovation with the integration of direct indexing, private markets, options overlay strategies, and other separately managed accounts into its asset allocation framework. Advisors can tap into BlackRock’s industry leading model portfolio investment framework to build a differentiated suite of custom model portfolios tailored to the needs of their business. This role is an opportunity to join a high growth, multi-billion-dollar business and a dynamic team in a fast-evolving market with a specific focus on this budding innovation. It will require a strong combination of project management, investment, and client interpersonal skills.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage projects and scale the business: Support critical initiatives scaling the new CMS HNW business and its integration across MASS, USWA, Models Infrastructure, MASS PM, and partner investment teams
  • Think strategically and evaluate relevant trends in the asset management and financial advisory industries to help steer HNW model innovation
  • Manage the ongoing pipeline of HNW opportunities among existing and prospective CMS clients, driving accountability for commercial activation
  • Leverage AI to address areas of business inefficiency and drive more repeatable, scalable, and impactful outcomes for clients
  • Become a subject matter expert on select HNW solutions and go-to resource for Model Strategists and CMS Client PMs
  • Represent the HNW Pillar in joint projects with sales, marketing, and product strategy
  • Support all aspects of CMS day-to-day operations in partnership with MASS Core PM and Models Infrastructure
  • Support clients and sales: Partner in all areas of business innovation and cement the CMS HNW Pillar as a center of excellence for scaling delivery and implementation of HNW solutions through model portfolios
  • Partner with USWA on prospect conversion, maintaining a clear understanding of timing, flows, and knowledge gaps to close business
  • In close partnership with USWA and GPS, deliver the CMS value proposition to clients, positioning resources, capabilities, and services to meet demand
  • Support existing client relationships and new business engagements by delivering BlackRock’s best thinking on an ongoing basis via conference calls and in-person meetings
  • Help build strong relationships with sales, distribution, and 3rd party partners to build the HNW Pillar brand and deliver commercial results aligned with business objectives

Requirements:

  • BA/BS required
  • Advanced Degree / CFA / CAIA / CFP, or progress towards, is strongly preferred
  • A minimum 3 years investment or asset management experience
  • Impeccable organizational skills with robust attention to detail and process
  • Entrepreneurial with a sense of ownership and keen sense to build a business
  • Proactive project management and an ability to manage projects from inception to close
  • Student of the market with strong grasp of financial markets, portfolio construction and analysis
  • Collegial attitude and eagerness to partner with numerous teams across MASS and broader BlackRock
