Job Description

Citi is seeking a dynamic and commercially driven Custody Product Manager to lead and grow its Investor Services and Custody product across Egypt and Pakistan. This is a high-impact, client-facing role that sits at the intersection of product strategy, digital innovation, and market development, requiring an individual who can drive business growth while navigating the regulatory and operational complexities of two distinct and evolving markets. The successful candidate will be part of the team responsible for defining and executing the custody product roadmap across both markets, leveraging data-driven insights, digital capabilities, and emerging technologies — including Artificial Intelligence — to enhance client experience, streamline operations, and deliver sustainable commercial outcomes. This role demands a strategic thinker with deep subject matter expertise in custody and investor services, a strong commercial orientation, and the ability to take the lead, and spearhead initiatives across a multiple jurisdictions.

Job Responsibility

  • Define, own and execute the Custody product strategy for Egypt and Pakistan, aligned with Citi's Investor Services objectives and local market dynamics
  • Conduct ongoing market analysis to identify growth opportunities, competitive threats, regulatory developments and emerging client needs across both markets
  • Develop and maintain a structured product roadmap, prioritising initiatives based on commercial impact, client’s requirements and strategic fit, as well as regulatory requirements
  • Act as an internal advocate for Investor Services capabilities in Egypt and Pakistan
  • Partner with Sales, Relationship Management and Coverage teams to orginate potentail business, develop compelling, differentiated value propositions for target client segments including Global Custodians, Broker Dealers,Central Banks, Asset Managers, Sovereign Wealth funds and Institutional Investors
  • Work in active partnership with the Second Line of Defense (Risk and Compliance functions) and the Third Line of Defense (Internal Audit) to proactively identify, assess and mitigate risks inherent to the Custody product across Egypt and Pakistan
  • Make sure that he/she is part of the established operational governance framework, and work in close collaboration with Operational partners across both markets
  • Ensure all product initiatives , enhancements and client solutions by the individual are subject to appropriate (GPC) processes, with full engagement from local Risk, Compliance, Legal and Operations prior to launch
  • Maintain a thorough and current understanding of the regulatory environment across Egypt and Pakistan, proactively assessing the impact of regulatory developments on the product suite and ensuring timely esclation, and remediation of any compliance gaps
  • Understand and adhere to Citi's risk management policies, escalation standards and ethical conduct expectations
  • Work very closely with the other members of the product team on digital transformation agenda for Custody product delivery across both markets, identifying and championing opportunities to enhance the client experience through technology.
  • Work very closely with the other members of the product team driving adoption of data analytics and reporting capabilities.
  • Work very closely with the other members of the product team and the product leads in both counteries to evaluate and integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) and automation solutions into product workflows, to improve operational efficiency, reduce manual intervention and enhance risk controls
  • Stay at the forefront of emerging fintech trends, digital asset developments and regulatory technology (RegTech) solutions relevant to the custody and securities services landscape in Egypt and Pakistan
  • Take full ownership of the P&L of the Custody product across Egypt and Pakistan, with accountability for client retention
  • Work with the product leads in both counteries to develop and execute go-to-market strategies for new product launches, and capability enhancements across both markets
  • Identify and pursue cross-sell opportunities across Citi's broader Securities Services and Services
  • Actively participate in client pitches, RFP responses and, providing product expertise and thought leadership
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients across Egypt and Pakistan, acting as a trusted product advisor and escalation point for complex client requirements
  • Engage proactively with regulators, industry bodies and market infrastructure providers in both markets to anticipate regulatory change and ensure Citi's product offering remains compliant and competitive
  • Represent Citi at industry conferences, and regulatory forums, contributing to thought leadership and market positioning
  • Work in close partnership with Legal, Compliance, Risk, Finance and Operations to ensure robust governance, sound controls and adherence to all applicable policies, laws and regulations

Requirements

  • Pogressive experience in Custody, Securities Services, Investor Services or a related financial services discipline
  • Demonstrated experience in product management, with a track record of successfully launching or enhancing financial products or services.
  • Strong understanding of custody operations, including settlement, asset servicing, corporate actions, fund administration, and sub-custody network management
  • Experience working across emerging markets like Egypt and Pakistan, with an understanding of the regulatory, operational and market infrastructure dynamics in those markets
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related discipline — required
  • Master's degree / MBA — strongly preferred
  • Professional qualifications such securities/custody certifications are an advantage
