ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for Custodian at the Shreveport Convention Center/Municipal Auditorium in Shreveport, Louisiana. Under the direction of Lead Housekeeer and the Housekeeping Manager, the Part Time Custodian team member's primary responsibilities include the following functions in accordance with ASM policies.
Job Responsibility:
Clean and sanitize restrooms/bathrooms using established practices and procedure
Clean, dust, and wipe furniture
sweep, mop, or vacuum floors
empty/clean wastebaskets and trash containers
empty cigarette urns
replace light bulbs
refill restroom dispensers
Strip, clean, buff and apply floor sealer and floor finish to hard surface floors, vacuum and shampoo carpets
Use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools, buffers, auto scrubbers, extractors, high pressure washers, high speed buffers and vacuums, brooms, mops, and squeegees for the cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls, carpets, furniture, etc
Wash walls and equipment
use ladders when required in work assignments
Follow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies. Use as directed
Handle recycling materials
Assist with inventory control and security
Upholds department and Shreveport Convention Center/Municipal Auditoriums standards, procedures and policies
Responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of equipment
Operate machinery used for housekeeping
Assists newer employees with acclimation to the center and provides on-the-job demonstrations when assigned
Additional duties and tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
Good communication skills
Must be 18 years of age or older
Ability to read signs and follow simple oral and written instructions
Excellent customer service skills
Must be able to pass a background check that meets corporate minimum requirements
Teamwork oriented -- cooperative attitude is a must
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
Must be able easily adjust to changing priorities
Must be able to work independently
High school diploma or GED preferred
Knowledge of Banquet Event Order (BEO) preferred
Must be able to obtain a ABO Card and LATC Permit
Ability to operate tools, and equipment used: applicable safety codes and regulations

Ability to interact with all levels of staff ability to quickly identify problems and resolve them
