Your Role on the Team: Receives predetermined work assignments that are subject to a moderate level of control and review. Instructs direct reports to complete assignments using established guidelines, procedures and policies. Requires full knowledge of own area of functional responsibility. The Custodial Supervisor is responsible for planning, assigning and supervising the work and training of Senior Custodians and Night Custodians on multiple shifts engaged in cleaning, sanitation and maintenance tasks. Specific oral and written instructions accompany major assignments, but the incumbent makes ordinary decisions and is responsible for planning work schedules and methods. What It Takes to be Successful: Required: Working knowledge in custodial and housekeeping services. Verbal and written communication skills in the English language, active listening, flexibility, critical thinking, multi-tasking, and time management. Working knowledge of and ability for decision making, reasoning, ability to develop original ideas to solve problems, and perform operations analysis, and quality control analysis. Working knowledge and skill in effective interpersonal and work leadership skills to provide guidance to other personnel. Basic computer application skills. Knowledge and experience to perform typical and specialized cleaning of recreation facilities, restrooms, wood floors, rubber floors and carpeted spaces. Knowledge of floor scrubbers, vacuums, carpet machines and other mechanical cleaning equipment. Knowledge of appropriate hazardous waste disposal policies and procedures. Working knowledge and experience in workforce reorganization, work loading, productivity analysis, planning, and determining appropriate custodial staffing models, work methods, equipment, materials and safety practices. High school diploma and / or equivalent certification / experience / training. Driver's License: Required to hold a valid drivers license, have a driving record that is in accordance with local policies/procedures, and/or enroll in the California Employer Pull Notice Program. Preferred: Ability to speak and write in Spanish and English. Ability to give and follow oral and written instructions in English and Spanish. Bloodborne pathogens and sharps disposal training. Special Conditions: Valid California Driver’s License and participation in DMV pull-notice program. Must be able to work outside of regularly scheduled shift. Must be able to drive a FM vehicle. Provide on-call assistance when necessary. Continue professional development by staying abreast of advances in the field. Must be able to wear PPE. The expected pay range for this recruitment is $55,400.00- $ 74,600.00 (Annual).
