Job Description:

This position supports K-State’s mission of learning, scholarship, creative endeavor, and research by creating and maintaining an environment which contributes to the health and safety of students, faculty, staff, and visitors. This position plays an integral role in maintaining and sustaining university structural assets. This position is responsible for first impressions, thus playing an important role in student & faculty recruitment and retention.

Job Responsibility:

  • Perform a variety of custodial functions to include cleaning, disinfecting, minor equipment repair and preventative maintenance
  • Utilize a broad array of chemicals and operate a variety of power equipment in maintenance of floors and other duties
  • Perform a variety of miscellaneous tasks as assigned by leadership
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to frequently interact effectively with university students, faculty, staff, and visitors
  • Available for call back for emergencies

Requirements:

  • Ability to operate a wide variety of commercial janitorial equipment and understand/follow explicit instructions, both oral and written form
  • Be 18 years of age
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship
