Job Description

Under supervision, performs unskilled manual and operational tasks for College Residences /Dining Halls facilities, meeting rooms, study rooms, laundry facilities, offices, lounge areas, hallways, stairs, property signage, trash/recycle chutes and rooms, bathrooms, kitchens, suites, and landings, interior/exterior common areas, and HDH grounds and walkways. Will assist Building Maintenance Workers as needed. Safely operates and drives trucks with lifts, box trucks, and various other university vehicles. Responsible for safeguarding assigned area's keys and care/operation of custodial supplies and equipment. Will respond to routine and emergency work requests from supervisor, staff, maintenance, Customer Service Center, and police department as needed. Will provide customer service to student residents and guests as needed. Work location is Dining Halls/student residence. Positive interaction with staff, residents, and guests is required.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to operate large box trucks, closed vans, golf carts, and other university vehicles
  • Experience working in an environment that requires heavy lifting and manual labor
  • Knowledge of power and manual tools
  • Knowledge and experience of general custodial duties and ability to operate custodial equipment
  • Knowledge and ability to use cleaning chemicals safely and appropriately
  • Ability to maintain acceptable work habits, punctuality, and regularity of attendance
  • Ability to work positively and effectively alone or in a team environment
  • Ability to build and maintain customer relationships through a professional approach in handling customer service needs and resolving problems efficiently
