Job Description:

The purpose of the Curriculum Specialist - Secondary is to enhance and evolve the curriculum through a dedicated process of continuous improvement, ensuring it remains relevant, engaging, and representative of the diverse student and educator populations served.

Job Responsibility:

  • Execute our process of continuous improvement of the CharacterStrong secondary curriculum
  • Develop new content that is relevant, engaging, and representative of the many different students and educators that CharacterStrong serves
  • Build and collaborate on quarterly projects and coordinate between cross-departmental teams to successfully perform curriculum and professional development audits
  • Utilize expertise in secondary education, evidence-based instruction and, social, emotional, and behavioral needs among youth to bring voice and perspective to content generation
  • Facilitate in-person and virtual professional learning for schools utilizing the secondary curriculum
  • Host live webinars for schools that showcase different aspects of CharacterStrong and the secondary curriculum
  • Conduct discovery research with educational stakeholders to identify areas for improvement and best practices in secondary education and character education, behavioral competencies, future ready strategies, and other state-mandated health and safety standards to inform curriculum revisions and enhancements
  • Collaborate with curriculum, product, and technology teams to explore and implement tech-enhanced solutions that personalize learning and support educator effectiveness
  • Develop differentiated instructional strategies and materials that support multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) for behavior and social-emotional development in secondary settings
  • Design, revise, and align curriculum content with state and national standards, ensuring integration of character education and social and behavioral components into subject areas for grades 6–12
  • Leverage innovative approaches to teaching and learning, including the use of AI and other emerging technologies, to design customized, interactive learning experiences that increase engagement and relevance for both students and educators

Requirements:

  • Experience in curriculum development and content creation for implementation supports
  • Experience with delivering social and emotional learning curriculum, behavioral supports, inclusive practices for students with IEPs, and other evidence-based Tier 1 programs and practices
  • Strong communication, presentation, and project management skills
  • Strong writing and verbal skills
  • Strong technology skills, including Google Suite and other similar platforms
  • Strong understanding of AI as a tool for unique content and resource development
  • Minimum of 5 years working in education

Nice to have:

  • Preferred knowledge of the CharacterStrong curriculum
  • Preferred experience and knowledge of secondary education
  • Preferred fluency in French or Spanish (written and verbal)
  • Preferred experience presenting at a state, regional, or national level
