Effectively line managing teachers, including absence management and conducting regular check-ins
Providing vital mentoring and support to trainee teachers to ensure they achieve accreditation and become outstanding educators
Being the operational lead for the recruitment, selection, induction, and training of curriculum team members
Ensuring adequate resources are in place for outstanding teaching, learning, and assessment (TLA), including sourcing new software and materials
Undertaking robust quality monitoring and quality improvement initiatives, including observations of teaching and learning and moderation
Providing comprehensive quality reports to the college leadership team, informing the college self-assessment report (SAR) and quality improvement plan (QIP)
Leading the operationalisation of agreed quality improvement measures
Ensuring cover is in place for any teaching absences or vacancies, including providing cover teaching as and when required
Leading on timetabling and supporting the Deputy Head of College with curriculum design
Operationally leading the development and facilitation of academic assessments for all potential learners to assess their ability to meet learning needs
Ensuring teachers complete all required administrative functions and use databases correctly, meeting deadlines for annual reviews, end-of-term reports, etc
Overseeing the production of informative, professional, and fit-for-purpose end-of-term newsletters
Leading high-quality Celebration of Achievement events
Moderating annual review paperwork and chairing annual review meetings
Developing strong partnerships with external stakeholders
Fostering strong relationships to ensure smooth collaboration with the residential team, operations team, and wider TDT (Teaching, Development, and Training) colleagues
Requirements:
A degree or equivalent experience is required
A Cert Ed or equivalent qualification is highly desirable, or a willingness to achieve this within a specified time frame
Extensive experience in SEND, with a strong understanding of supporting autistic learners
Crucial experience in further education curriculum delivery planning and administration
Demonstrable experience working with young people exhibiting challenging behaviours
Experience with vocational qualifications is preferred
Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and manage a team effectively
The ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
A deep and unwavering commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people is essential
Understanding of PBS/ABA or related behavioural approaches is highly desirable
A commitment to ongoing professional development
