We are seeking a MES Curriculum Manager to join our team. In this role you will lead and support a curriculum area by managing staff, driving quality improvement, and ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and student achievement. The role includes overseeing curriculum delivery, resource planning, staff development, and student support, while promoting continuous improvement and maintaining compliance with safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion, and health and safety policies.
Job Responsibility
To stand in for the Head of Area when required
To undertake a teaching role within MES
To manage staff, including recruitment, undertaking Performance Development Reviews, objective setting, performance monitoring and staff development
To assist with the monitoring of student behaviour, performance processes and pastoral support
To organise and implement timetables, rooms and registers ensuring they are assigned to the relevant course and offer effective staff utilisation
To lead on internal quality assurance of the department in line with awarding organisation requirements
To assist with managing the physical and material resources necessary to support curriculum delivery
To assist the Area Head with other duties in the area such as: Promotion and marketing of programmes, Curriculum quality including management of student recruitment, and improving retention and achievement
Requirements
Proven leadership experience, including team management, decision-making, and the ability to motivate and guide others
Evidence of leading and supporting other staff in the development of teaching, learning and assessment
Experience of proactive curriculum development, promotion and marketing of programmes
Experience of developing effective learning and assessment materials
Experience of inspiring, challenging and stretching learners during delivery
Industry experience in either Plumbing, Electrical Installations or renewable energy sectors
Education to level 3 or above and/or a professional qualification in required subject or equivalent OR Education to degree level and/or above in required subject or equivalent
Minimum of Level 2 qualification in English and Mathematics GCSE 4+ or C and above / CSE Level 1 / O-Level C or above / Level 2 Adult Numeracy or Literacy or equivalent
Level 5 Teaching Qualification/ completing within 3 years of employment or 3 years of the first available course
Level 3 in either Plumbing, Electrical Installations or Renewable energy
