Working with the Curator for The Dance Archive (TDA), Archivist, and K-12 educators, the Curriculum Development Assistant is a part-time, non-benefitted, temporary position responsible for the creation and adaptation of K-12 educational state dance standards-aligned curricula that incorporates collection materials from The Dance Archive (TDA).
Job Responsibility:
Work with Curator, Archivist, and K-12 educators to develop new and adapt or edit existing curricula for K-12 students that align with Colorado Department of Education (CDE) State Dance Standards and are rooted in arts-based inquiry and social-emotional learning
Understand the major goals, challenges, and opportunities at the school and district level in the state of Colorado, specific to dance-focused curriculum
Work with Curator, Archivist, and K-12 educators to identify potential collections relevant to curriculum development
Work with K-12 educators who will be using the curriculum in their classrooms to ensure that the curriculum meets their and their students’ needs
Requirements:
Knowledge, experience, or training in dance education and/or curriculum development
This can include experience adapting existing curriculum to meet a particular group of students’ needs or training in the development of curriculum
Nice to have:
Familiarity working with archival materials in a research context
Experience teaching or creating dance-based curriculum
Experience working in a dance-focused educational setting with K-12 students
Knowledge of national trends and best practices in dance and movement education
Experience working with graphic design programs such as Canva, Illustrator, etc.
