The Culinary Development Chef is responsible for the accelerated development of significant culinary initiatives, that generate operational culinary support tools driving demand and contributing to Business Unit growth and operational excellence. This position will work with the Canadian Culinary Innovation Center team and will have close collaboration and engagement with operations, marketing, procurement, as well as our preferred supplier partners.
Job Responsibility:
Development of recipes reflective of consumer insights, current trends, flavor profiles and competitive strategies that are relevant to channel, quality tier, brand, food cost and nutritional guidance while maintaining accurate portion and yielding consistent with the culinary innovation process
Coordination and collaboration with Global Supply Chain and Procurement to ensure quality specified products are used in development and are also in broad distribution, inclusive of commodity ingredients to ensure seamless field execution and exceptional consumer satisfaction
Creation of specific training tools as identified per project to include Build Diagrams, Operational Flow Diagrams and Key ingredient List
Conduct operational training sessions for concepts as required
Leveraging strategic, third-party relationships with manufacturers, consultants, trade councils, commissions and boards to enable thought leadership and innovative development
Requirements:
Culinary Arts degree
Red Seal Certification
Minimum 5 years progressive culinary experience, post degree completion
Experience with new concept, menu and recipe development
Excellent presentation, written & verbal communication skills
Computer skills: Microsoft Office, recipe database
