As our CT Technologist, you'll utilize computerized tomography (CT) scanners to produce cross-section images of patients’ internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of medical issues in compliance with proper safety procedures and protocols. You'll interpret the physician’s scanning instructions, administer contrast materials, prepare and operate the CT scan equipment and position the patient to capture the appropriate images. Every day, you will adeptly create detailed cross-sectional images of the skeleton, tissues, and internal organs. Your compassionate interaction and skill in patient care will be crucial, as you play a significant role in fostering a positive and comforting patient experience throughout the imaging process. To be successful in this role, you will deeply understand the critical importance of diagnostic imaging. This includes a comprehensive knowledge of general imaging workflow, various patient positioning techniques, and the ability to consistently capture clear results essential for timely and accurate diagnoses that guide effective patient care.
Job Responsibility:
Utilize computerized tomography (CT) scanners to produce cross-section images of patients’ internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of medical issues
Interpret the physician’s scanning instructions, administer contrast materials, prepare and operate the CT scan equipment and position the patient to capture the appropriate images
Create detailed cross-sectional images of the skeleton, tissues, and internal organs
Maneuver equipment and patients
Provide basic patient care
Submit accurate and timely imaging, patient history documentation, and case charges
Support the department’s initiatives related to patient and employee satisfaction
Perform a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, initiative, and ingenuity in order to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis
Keep skills current and continue professional development and education
Perform quality assurance audits and activities as well as incidental office duties as needed
Requirements:
Graduation from an accredited school of Radiological Technology, including course work in cross-sectional anatomy and/or demonstrated skill/knowledge in cross-sectional anatomy
One year of work experience in the senior level of the core job family or any combination of experience or education that would demonstrate the ability to perform the duties of the position
American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT) required
Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS Certification required
State of Washington Registration as a Radiologic Technologist
One year of work experience as a CT Technologist is preferred
CT Registration is preferred
