As our CT Technologist, you will utilize your expertise to capture precise diagnostic images, enabling our Radiologists to accurately diagnose and/or rule out diverse medical conditions. Every day, you will adeptly create detailed cross-sectional images of the skeleton, tissues, and internal organs. Your compassionate interaction and skill in patient care will be crucial, as you play a significant role in fostering a positive and comforting patient experience throughout the imaging process. To be successful in this role, you will deeply understand the critical importance of diagnostic imaging. This includes a comprehensive knowledge of general imaging workflow, various patient positioning techniques, and the ability to consistently capture clear results essential for timely and accurate diagnoses that guide effective patient care.
Job Responsibility
Capture precise diagnostic images, enabling Radiologists to accurately diagnose and/or rule out diverse medical conditions
Create detailed cross-sectional images of the skeleton, tissues, and internal organs
Foster a positive and comforting patient experience throughout the imaging process
Provide proper assessment of the patient and their abilities to participate in ordered procedure
Provide a clear explanation of the procedure including duration, process, and what to expect following completion
Verify informed consent for and assist physician with interventional procedures
Practice aseptic and sterile techniques as necessary and observe universal precautions
Provide patient education as appropriate
Select proper equipment, set correct technical factors, procedure protocols and gather proper supplies
Recognize all radiation safety standards including Image Gently and Image Wisely and MR safety standards
Understand and follow all rules around radiation protection
Obtain clear and complete history from the patient and or patient record and record that data into patient record
Perform quality assessment of images obtained and evaluate equipment issues
Ensure all equipment is in working order at the beginning of the day and prior to starting of a procedure
Perform any performance and quality tests on equipment as required including ACR quality requirements
Check all supplies for outdates prior to use and report any shortages, variations or failures
Use incident reporting system to report any patient injuries or concerns, equipment or supply failures or malfunctions
Participate in and have a good understanding of all department, campus and system quality improvement projects, the ACR accreditation process, Radiation Safety, ALARA, MQSA, and State Regulations
Be familiar with the requirements of CMS and Joint Commission and be able to speak to all department processes around quality and environment of care
Requirements
Graduate of a Radiologic Technology program, upon hire
Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT, upon hire
Medical Radiographer: NE, upon hire
Registered Technologist Computed Tomography, within 24 - months
