Job Description

Performs CT scans and related procedures at Advocate Condell Medical Center, a Level 1 trauma center in Lake County.

Job Responsibility

  • Performs optimal scans using correct technical factors, shielding and protocols
  • Positions patients correctly, using proper immobilization techniques
  • Use correct technical factors in accordance with the American College of Radiology (ACR) to use the lowest amount of radiation to get a diagnostic scan
  • Performs CT angiography, 3D, MIPS, VR, Vessel Analysis, and MPR's, post processing of computer data to enhance exams for radiologist interpretation
  • Initiates IV for administration of contrast media for CT

Requirements

  • 1 year of general radiology preferred but not required
  • IEMA License
  • Current ARRT registry
  • CT certified within 1 year of hire

  • Selects proper technical factors, positioning, and equipment to optimally demonstrate patient anatomy and corresponding pathology
  • Completes timely and accurate computer entry duties inclusive of exam status changes and billing correct procedure
  • Maintains cleanliness and general order of procedure room
  • Ensures patient and personal radiation protection
  • Communicates patient needs and/or pertinent assessment information to the radiologist
  • Knows fire, disaster and safety procedures and regulations as pertain to the work area
