Performs Computed Tomography procedures utilizing General Electric Revolution, Lightspeed, Brightspeed, and HD750 Computerized Tomography Systems according to established operating procedures, clinical protocols, and imaging techniques
Performs computerized post-processing of images using reconstruction software appropriate to the pathology or region of interest under investigation
Addresses minor customer complaints. Tactfully resolves complaints
refers difficult complaints or sensitive issues to higher authority
Coordinates the scheduling of inpatients and outpatients to ensure efficient utilization of CT equipment and personnel
Performs Quality Assurance Tests on CT equipment to ensure optimal image quality and equipment performance
Maintains equipment safety by performing daily Tube Warm Up and Calibrations on CT scanners
Communicates equipment issues or concerns to appropriate personnel and/or ILinqs issues directly to GE service
Maintains appropriate cleanliness of diagnostic and support equipment
Obtains patient history and other relevant clinical information
documents all patient information on appropriate forms in preparation for review and dictation by a radiologist
Responsible for charging of patient examinations, and preparing images and clinical information for interpretation by a radiologist
Starts IVs using appropriate technique, prepares and administers contrast material, and monitors patient condition during the CT procedure
Maintains appropriate inventory levels of medical supplies
Initiates requests for emergency medical support as indicated by patient condition
this is to include Code Blue, Respiratory Distress, etc.
Requirements:
12-24 months experience in radiology
Graduate of Radiologic Technology program
2 hours of stroke education/year
Knowledge and understanding of cross sectional anatomy and CT procedures
Able to perform all routine CT procedures
Good oral & written communication skills
Computer competent
ARRT Registry (RT)
IDNS License
CPR
IV Certification within 3 months of date of hire
CT Registration within 1 year of date of hire
Nice to have:
8 hours of stroke education/year
Attends educational seminars
Attend annual inservices on fire safety, infection control, and radiation protection
Member of professional organization to keep abreast of new developments
