Job Description

Weekend position working Friday 1030a-7p, Saturday and Sunday 7a-7p. Will follow weekender program. Competently operates CT equipment to perform basic and intermediate diagnostic procedures. Procedures include basic imaging processing, body, head, chest, abdomen, pelvis, contrast, orthopedic and extremity.

Job Responsibility

  • Competently operates CT equipment to perform basic and intermediate diagnostic procedures
  • Obtains medical history from patients and compares requisitions to physicians' orders
  • Positions patient and selects proper scanning factors, adjusts factors to attain the appropriate images, and provides radiation protection and safety
  • Prepares and administers contrast media under the direction of the Radiologist
  • Post-processes images as directed and accurately identifies and labels images
  • Prepares and maintains records in accordance with various regulatory agencies and enters patient and study information into the radiology information system
  • Identifies equipment performance issues and performs equipment quality assurance tests and calibration procedures
  • Performs various patient positioning and transporting duties
  • Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served

Requirements

  • Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin
  • Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Computed Tomography (CT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) needs to be obtained within 18 months
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 6 months
  • Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Radiologic Technology
  • Knowledge of cross sectional anatomy and basic radiation safety
  • Competent in IV and venipuncture (if required by facility)
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and patient service skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders frequently
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs. over the head
  • Must be able to carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance
  • Must be able to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force
  • Must be able to perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present
  • Must have clear speech, vision and hearing
