Job Responsibility

  • Serves as a patient advocate to ensure that patients and customers needs are met in a timely and efficient manner
  • Ensures timely scheduling of both inpatients and out patients
  • Provides education to all patients before, during and after exams
  • Maintains a positive relationship with all customers i.e., patients, other departments, physicians and fellow associates
  • Reviews patient satisfaction data and participates in improving areas of concern
  • Utilizes appropriate resources to resolve patient irritants
  • Addresses and resolves customer complaints
  • Ensures on-time completion of own performance pathway
  • Submits self-evaluation to leader two weeks before review
  • Participates quarterly in the associate satisfaction survey
  • Submits ideas on improving customer satisfaction on a continual basis
  • Accountable for the production of quality CT scans
  • Demonstrates the appropriate operation of all CT equipment
  • Demonstrates safety in all areas, electrical, environmental, radiation etc
  • Ensures all appropriate information is present before CT exams are performed
  • Completes all data entries in the HIS and RIS
  • Participates in efforts to monitor and improve departmental CQI indicators
  • Submits ideas for improving quality in the department
  • Assesses own learning needs, seeks appropriate training and development

  • Utilize ALARA radiation safety practices
  • Accurately complete perfusions and reconstructions on the 3-D workstation
  • Thoroughly document all required forms in Radnet and PACS
  • Performs CT scans based on current protocols and/or radiologist recommendations i.e. Trauma/ER, Perfusions, Routine Body, Routine Neuro and Interventional Procedures
  • Assists Interventional Radiologist by accurately scanning the area of interest requested by Radiologist i.e. biopsies and drainages
  • Ensures patient is ready for scan i.e. confirms appropriate gauge IV needle, appropriate type/dose of contrast and allergy status
  • Accurately and thoroughly completes hospital/department specific forms per protocol i.e. completes exams in Radnet, incident reports/extravasation forms, patient contrast information forms, side/site forms and documents exam information in CT log
  • Performs protocol management by evaluating and determining area of interest and type of scan to be performed on patient, consults physician as necessary
