Computed Tomography (CT) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 180 Days
Licensed Radiologic Technologist (LRT) - State Board of Healing Arts within 90 Days
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) - American Heart Association (AHA)
Advanced computer skills, related to RIS, PACS, EMR

Job Responsibility

Acts as a liaison for communication between other departments and assists when called upon for special projects that have been approved by the Radiology Department leadership team
Assists with developing continuing education strategies with the CT Department which will assist the long term enrichment of the staff
Participates in providing teaching and learning opportunities to fellow technologists and students
Ensuring that all staff are operating equipment optimally and safely by adhering to policies, procedures and protocols
Is responsible for the operation of CT scanners and auxiliary devices within the scope of designated locations. Operates all equipment safely, ensuring that radiation exposure is set to provide the lowest dose for reasonable image quality as overseen by staff radiologists
Maintains an organized flow of the patients scheduled, coordinates examinations in the most efficient order and performs exams in a sequence which minimizes the patient's stay in the hospital
Must have an excellent working knowledge of contrast reactions and responses and be able to respond immediately to patient needs
Responsible for completion of mandatory educational assignments as provided by supervisor/senior supervisor
Responsible for performing routine CT procedures at a very high standard with an increasing knowledge and ability to perform specialty studies with experience
Must be able to set equipment parameters, provide patient assessment and education, provide accurate patient preparation and provide venous access for the safe administration of contrast material

Job Responsibility

Deliver diagnostic imaging services to all patients by providing modern medicine and compassionate care
Demonstrates knowledge and application of all CT exams on inpatients, outpatients, and ECC as described in department policy and procedure manual
Responsible for the technical quality of scans
Immediately reports equipment malfunction, concerns, and anomalies to the Lead CT Technologist or department manager/director and Biomed Department
Understands the importance of providing quality and timely customer service for any ordering physician
Assists Radiologists and other medical staff performing patient care procedures such as patient lifting, I.V. insertion, drawing blood, or others, as assigned
Provides patients with accurate procedure detail
Understands all computer/software applications that are required to perform day, evening, and night work flow tasks
Available to assist in other departments when needed or assigned
Review workstation and post processing functionality as required monthly and submit QA documentation to the Lead CT Technologist

Graduate of an AMA-approved Nuclear Medicine Technology Training Program
Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) - Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) new graduates must become registered within 3 months and will not be recognized as technologist until registered (registry eligible)

Job Responsibility

Uses gamma cameras, PET scanners and uptake probes to produce physiological functional images and quantitative data to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of the patient’s disease
Selects and operates a wide variety of imaging equipment in an efficient manner and coordinates examinations in the most efficient order and perform exams in a sequence which minimizes the patient’s stay in the hospital
Maintains working order of the equipment and performs equipment calibrations for the assigned service
Performs the best diagnostic examination possible, including proper patient identification and correct patient positioning of each and every exam
Attends to patient’s comfort during procedures
Injects radiopharmaceuticals intravenously and/or administers them orally to patients in order to perform Nuclear Medicine examinations
Works assigned shift and must be readily available to perform on-call clinical services when emergency patient or staffing needs require evening, weekend and holiday coverage
Obtains properly completed examination consultation requests, patient’s clinical history, previous diagnosis reports, images and/or records for the radiologist to use for interpretation and diagnostic purposes
Interacts with physicians and other technical staff to provide quality, safe and efficient care for the patient
Maintains appearance of all rotational areas including hallways and any other area of the Department being used
