Performs computed tomography (CT) exams by following and verifying referring providers' orders and remaining in compliance with the Imaging Sciences department and all governing bodies. This position serves as a preceptor in the on-boarding of newly hired Technologists directly orienting to equipment, imaging routines and procedures, computer programs and software, as well as departmental and hospital policies. This position is considered a subject matter expert in downtime procedures and acts as super-user when new equipment or programs are introduced to the department. Independently is responsible for performing I-stats, pregnancy tests, starting IV's, scanning patients in a safe and efficient manner, Injecting IV contrast, preparing oral contrast, completing all associated paperwork and computer work, and discharging the patient from the CT department with appropriate post CT instructions. May be designated as a Lead to support operations on various shifts.
Job Responsibility:

Requirements:
Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology
4 years of progressively responsible professional work experience as a specialist in Computed Tomography in a clinical or hospital environment
Licensed Radiologic Technologist - current NYS licensure upon hire
ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification with CE credits upon hire
Nice to have:
1 year experience in the URMC Imaging Sciences Department
