Job Description:

Job Responsibility:

  • Performs CT exams by following and verifying referring provider orders
  • Identifies patient service requirements
  • Educates patients/families regarding procedure and/or treatment to be performed
  • Prepares patient for radiological/CT procedures
  • Ensures proper imaging techniques
  • Produces high quality images and prepares/presents them with other pertinent patient information for timely interpretation
  • Prepares and maintains accurate documentation
  • Practices radiation protection techniques (ALARA)
  • Performs and evaluates equipment quality control measurements
  • Troubleshoots and notifies appropriate personnel to maintain equipment performance
  • Maintains a safe environment for patients, personnel, and visitors
  • At an advanced level, may train new employees or lead day to day work activities

Requirements:

  • Completion of formal training in an approved school of radiologic technology
  • Maintains current NYS licensure
  • Maintains American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification
  • Maintains Basic Life Support certification (BLS) with CE credits as required

Nice to have:

  • Minimum of 18 months of progressively responsible professional work experience as a specialist in Computed Tomography in a clinical or hospital environment
  • Minimum of 6 months dedicated to the URMC Imaging Sciences Department
  • Capable of performing all CT related duties
