Job Responsibility:
Performs CT exams by following and verifying referring provider orders
Identifies patient service requirements
Educates patients/families regarding procedure and/or treatment to be performed
Prepares patient for radiological/CT procedures
Ensures proper imaging techniques
Produces high quality images and prepares/presents them with other pertinent patient information for timely interpretation
Prepares and maintains accurate documentation
Practices radiation protection techniques (ALARA)
Performs and evaluates equipment quality control measurements
Troubleshoots and notifies appropriate personnel to maintain equipment performance
Maintains a safe environment for patients, personnel, and visitors
At an advanced level, may train new employees or lead day to day work activities
Requirements:
Completion of formal training in an approved school of radiologic technology
Maintains current NYS licensure
Maintains American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification
Maintains Basic Life Support certification (BLS) with CE credits as required
Nice to have:
Minimum of 18 months of progressively responsible professional work experience as a specialist in Computed Tomography in a clinical or hospital environment
Minimum of 6 months dedicated to the URMC Imaging Sciences Department
