The CSIS Security Officer is a trainee professional role. Requires a good knowledge of the range of processes, procedures and systems to be used in carrying out assigned tasks and a basic understanding of the underlying concepts and principles upon which the job is based. Good understanding of how the team interacts with others in accomplishing the objectives of the area. Makes evaluative judgements based on the analysis of factual information. They are expected to resolve problems by identifying and selecting solutions through the application of acquired technical experience and will be guided by precedents. Must be able to exchange information in a concise way as well as be sensitive to audience diversity. Limited but direct impact on the business through the quality of the tasks/services provided. Impact of the job holder is restricted to own job.
Job Responsibility:
Interacting with multiple businesses across the enterprise
Leveraging subject matter expertise in physical security and safety, crisis management, security technology, event security/logistics or vendor management
Working in the field with little or no supervision
Making decisions taking into consideration surroundings and situation
Preparing advances for the protectee to ensure all aspects are covered
Maintaining Citi assets in working order
Ensuring security procedures are enforced and revised
Assessing risk when business decisions are made
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree/Associate's degree plus equivalent work experience/High School diploma plus equivalent work experience
Experience in adhering current security protocols, operations manuals and guides
Proven ability to foster relationships and interface with external agencies to promote functional excellence
Demonstrated experience in making sound judgements at a moment’s notice
Has maintained corporate assets, to include lease vehicles and equipment in a state of perpetual readiness enough to meet or surpass requirements
Can articulates basic understanding of security vulnerabilities and suggests preventative measures to assist in the mitigation of these potential risks
Experience in working with security & safety technology
Demonstrated ability to follow security and safety instructions and procedures
Relevant experience in a private/public sector security environment
Professional Security certifications
Experience working in a corporate or financial services security team
Flexibility to work on call off hours/weekends
