Job Description:

As a Non-Certified CS/SPD Technician, you will play a key role in how our operating rooms care for patients. In this role, you will provide safe and efficient practices for decontamination, instrument inspection, assembly, wrapping, and sterilization of all reprocessed instruments and distribution equipment. You will be responsible for case cart management and ensuring compliance with departmental standards.

Job Responsibility:

Provide case care management
Properly handle equipment, instruments and chemicals
Perform preventative maintenance
Observe personal protective equipment standards in the decontamination process
Scan, sort, inspect and assemble, wrap and label instruments by instrument list as documented in the procedure
Perform record keeping

Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED
Sterile Processing certification (e.g., CRCST, CSPDT, CFER, or CER) is required within 18 months after hire
Can use the computerized instrument tracking system to perform assigned duties
Military experience, such as Hospital Corpsmen (HM), Machinery Repairman (MR), Aircraft Maintenance Technician (2A3X3), Biomedical Equipment Specialist (68A), Small Arms Repairer (91F), or similar, will be considered
One year of Healthcare experience or a similar background in Mechanical/Manufacturing Assembly
Requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting items that weigh 20-30 pounds
Requires the ability to push a fully loaded cart weighing up to 200+ pounds
Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time
Requires corrected vision and hearing to within normal range
