About Terra Verde: Terra Verde is a joint venture between Webuild, GS Engineering & Construction (E&C) Australia, and Bouygues Construction Australia. The joint venture combines experienced local personnel with global resources and expertise. Terra Verde is delivering nearly 10 kilometres of parallel tunnels between Glen Waverley and Box Hill, including 39 cross passages and two station boxes at Glen Waverley and Burwood in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs, as part of the Suburban Rail Loop Project. This is the largest infrastructure project in Victoria’s history, shaping Melbourne and Victoria for future generations. About the opportunity: We are currently seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join the TBM team on Terra Verde. This role would primarily manage the Cross Passage Excavation and would be based in Burwood.
Job Responsibility
Monitor quality and quantities of incoming equipment and material, check work drawings, construction and specifications against site plans and conditions and arrange corrections or modifications where necessary
All coordination of TBM works in the vast tunnelling component of the project
Assign work and assist with reviews for accuracy and adherence to required standards of supplier, subcontractor quotations/purchase orders as well as subcontractor arrangements
Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and planning authorities to ensure satisfactory completion of structures and construction work
Coordinate the activities of an engineering team, programme workloads and provide technical and administrative guidance to the engineering staff to ensure aims and objectives are effectively and economically achieved
Ensure that project engineering completion is on time and within budget. Record completed work, costs incurred, materials used and retain progress drawings
Requirements
Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Science, Building Construction or equivalent
Specific experience with tunnelling and road headers as well as sought-after TBM knowledge
Diploma of Project Management in Engineering Science, Building, Construction or equivalent
Master’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent
Ideally, previous experience with detail work sequence planning
Project Engineer and operational experience is desirable with a minimum of 10 years in Construction
Proven experience cost planning and forecasting
Understanding of the Quality Management Plan, Safety Management Plan, Environmental Management Plan and Projects Design Management Plan
