We're looking for a Critical Systems Lead Shift Engineer who will operate and maintain critical national infrastructure systems across the NESO estate, ensuring resilience, compliance, and continuity of essential services.

Job Responsibility:

  • Support 24/7 critical services, ensuring no unplanned downtime
  • Complete and maintain weekly data including capacity reports and generator logs
  • Work normal hours while providing shift cover when required
  • Apply strong working knowledge of BS 7671 electrical installation and testing requirements
  • Maintain and troubleshoot building systems including HVAC, lighting, AC/refrigeration, LV infrastructure, UPS systems, generators, and associated distribution equipment

Requirements:

  • Time‑served electrical apprenticeship
  • Up‑to‑date BS 7671 wiring regulations qualification
  • Familiarity with LPHW (Low Pressure Hot Water) systems
  • Full UK driving licence

Nice to have:

  • HNC in Building Services or related discipline
  • C&G 2391 Testing & Inspection
  • Experience with Trend 963 or equivalent BMS platforms
  • IOSH Health & Safety certification
  • HV/LV Authorised Person status
  • Confined Spaces AP certification
  • Knowledge of ACOP L8 (Legionella management)
