This Critical Facilities Technician Skillbridge program aims to provide transitioning active-duty service members with specialized training and experiences in critical facilities management. In this 6-month program, you will learn all our critical infrastructure facilities' maintenance, operation, and optimization, ensuring their reliability and performance and preparing you for a civilian career in fields such as data center, telecommunications, power generation, and other industries that rely on mission-critical infrastructure.
Job Responsibility:
Facility Management: Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on critical facility equipment, including HVAC systems, electrical distribution systems, and backup power systems
Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Monitor critical facility systems and respond promptly to alarms or issues. Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems to ensure uninterrupted operation
Preventative Maintenance: Implement and manage preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend the life of critical systems. Conduct regular inspections and assessments
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment logs, and facility documentation. Provide detailed reports as necessary
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, facility managers, and external vendors, to ensure seamless operation and address facility-related challenges
Emergency Response: Act as a first responder during critical situations. Follow established protocols for emergency response and coordinate efforts to minimize downtime and impact
Requirements:
Must be a transitioning active-duty U.S. military service member
Experience in facility maintenance, engineering, or a related field
Familiarity with critical facility systems such as HVAC, electrical distribution, and backup power systems
Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to perform well under pressure
Ability to stand, walk, sit, climb, and balance
Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl using both arms and legs
Ability to reach, grasp, push, pull, handle, feel, and type with both hands and arms
Ability to smell, talk and hear
Ability to see at close and distance ranges and the ability to see and correctly distinguish color
Ability to work at a computer desk for the entirety of the working day
