Job Description

A CommonSpirit Health Traveler RN is a direct clinical patient care registered nurse (RN) who provides independent patient care within their scope of practice. The nurse is highly skilled in patient care; actively enhancing core nursing skills and developing advanced nursing knowledge skills abilities and behaviors through education and involvement in nursing activities beyond basic job requirements and responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as registered nurse in a critical care / intensive care unit
  • ADN or Nursing Diploma
  • Current unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse from the state(s) in which he or she will be practicing and/or compact state license
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) - Provided by American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support(ACLS) - Provided by American Heart Association (AHA)

Nice to have

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Certification in specialty preferred
  • certifications and competencies to support care area and patient population served

  • Supervises the transfer center activities for Dignity Health Facilities
  • Functions as the supervisor during their assigned shift to support the department and staff to carry out the patient logistics program responsibilities
  • Collaborates with customers and staff to ensure efficient and effective communication with others, including but not limited to: hospital administration, nursing leadership or their designee, medical staff, physicians and transportation vendors to ensure patients are assigned rooms in an expedient manner utilizing all critical resources within the organization to expedite this process
  • Primary responsibility for completing quality assurance reviews of work performed and communicating with department manager and director the outcomes of the review and any identified issues or barriers
  • Compiles data for the purpose of quality assurance and compliance with organizational and department policies, work aids, and algorithms
