Help residents through moments that matter - and play a vital role in building a stronger, more resilient Slough. We are looking for a compassionate, proactive and detail-focused Crisis and Resilience Fund Officer to join our Debt and Welfare team. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to residents experiencing hardship, helping them access the right support, stabilise their finances and move forward with confidence. In this important role, you will support residents with applications for discretionary and welfare funding, including crisis payments, Discretionary Housing Fund awards and Council Tax hardship support. You will bring empathy, sound judgement and a strong commitment to supporting people when they need it most. You will be confident handling sensitive conversations, able to explain complex information clearly, and organised enough to manage competing priorities accurately and efficiently. We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with experience of supporting residents in hardship, working with welfare benefits or Council Tax support, delivering excellent customer service, and building positive relationships with partners and colleagues. This is more than a processing role - it is a chance to be part of meaningful, resident-focused work that improves lives and strengthens communities. You will join a team committed to fairness, resilience and practical solutions, helping ensure support reaches the people who need it most.
