Job Description:

Are you a Criminology graduate with a keen interest in child development, behaviour, and safeguarding? Are you looking to gain hands-on experience supporting vulnerable young children in a school setting? We are working with a number of Primary schools across North London seeking caring, confident, and proactive graduates to support pupils aged 4–11 with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and behavioural challenges. Teaching Assistant roles are ideal for Criminology graduates who want to make a real difference while developing valuable experience in areas such as early intervention, child psychology and educational support.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEND and behavioural needs
  • Assist with classroom management, emotional regulation, and individual learning plans
  • Implement targeted intervention strategies in collaboration with the SENCO and class teacher
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage engagement, independence, and self-esteem
  • Work closely with external agencies, including CAMHS, therapists, and safeguarding teams, where appropriate

Requirements:

  • Hold a Criminology (or related) degree
  • Have experience working with children – ideally in education, mentoring, youth work, or mental health
  • Are enthusiastic, resilient, and genuinely passionate about supporting children with additional needs
  • Are available to work immediately or from the upcoming academic term
