Job Description:

We are working with a notable train operating company in the UK that is looking to secure the assistance of a Criminal Prosecutor for an assignment of 9-12 months in duration on a full time basis, starting ASAP.

Job Responsibility:

  • Prosecuting criminal cases
  • Supervising non-regulated individuals
  • Instructing external Counsel for Crown Court matters
  • Court attendance

Requirements:

  • Qualified Solicitor or Barrister in England & Wales
  • Upwards of 3 years’ PQE in prosecuting criminal cases
  • Solid track record of advocacy in the Magistrates Court
  • Exceptional understanding of court procedure, particularly the requirements of the Criminal Procedure Rules
  • Experience prosecuting railway byelaws offences
  • Ability to brief external counsel accurately and at speed
  • Experience in supervising other members within a team
  • Ability to build a rapport and work closely with internal stakeholders
  • Capacity to start a new role immediately or at short notice
  • Keen eye for detail
  • Ability to spend 3 days per week in a London office
  • Barristers must hold a practicing certificate with an appropriate endorsement or extension to conduct litigation

Experience prosecuting Railway Byelaws offences
