We are working with a notable train operating company in the UK that is looking to secure the assistance of a Criminal Prosecutor for an assignment of 9-12 months in duration on a full time basis, starting ASAP.
Job Responsibility:
Prosecuting criminal cases
Supervising non-regulated individuals
Instructing external Counsel for Crown Court matters
Court attendance
Requirements:
Qualified Solicitor or Barrister in England & Wales
Upwards of 3 years’ PQE in prosecuting criminal cases
Solid track record of advocacy in the Magistrates Court
Exceptional understanding of court procedure, particularly the requirements of the Criminal Procedure Rules
Experience prosecuting railway byelaws offences
Ability to brief external counsel accurately and at speed
Experience in supervising other members within a team
Ability to build a rapport and work closely with internal stakeholders
Capacity to start a new role immediately or at short notice
Keen eye for detail
Ability to spend 3 days per week in a London office
Barristers must hold a practicing certificate with an appropriate endorsement or extension to conduct litigation
