Job Description

A respected criminal defence practice is seeking a Criminal Paralegal to join its Hertfordshire office. This Criminal Paralegal role offers exposure to a broad range of criminal matters, supporting solicitors across case preparation, client work and court proceedings. The Criminal Paralegal will gain practical experience across a varied caseload, including complex and serious cases. This Criminal Paralegal opportunity is suited to someone looking to build a long-term career within a specialist criminal law environment.

Job Responsibility

  • Preparing legal documents and correspondence for criminal matters
  • Conducting legal research and preparing case notes
  • Reviewing evidence, disclosure and witness materials
  • Assisting with preparation for hearings and trials
  • Liaising with clients, courts, counsel, police stations and prisons
  • Attending client meetings, hearings and conferences where required
  • Drafting statements, attendance notes and legal submissions
  • Managing case files and supporting general file administration

  • LPC or SQE qualification
