Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Criminal Defense Attorney to join a growing legal team in Phoenix, Arizona. This opportunity is well suited for a lawyer who is confident in the courtroom and skilled at building defense strategies from initial case review through resolution. Job Responsibility

  • Represent clients in criminal matters at hearings, arraignments, negotiations, and other court proceedings
  • Prepare and argue motions while developing case strategies tailored to the facts and procedural posture of each matter
  • Handle trial preparation and courtroom advocacy, including witness examination and presentation of legal arguments
  • Review evidence, police reports, and related materials to identify defenses, risks, and opportunities for case resolution
  • Conduct discovery and manage the exchange and evaluation of case information in accordance with applicable rules
  • Draft briefs, pleadings, and other legal filings with a strong focus on accuracy, persuasiveness, and deadlines
  • Advise clients throughout the legal process, explaining options, likely outcomes, and recommended next steps
  • Work closely with colleagues and support staff to move cases forward efficiently and maintain high-quality client service

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience practicing criminal defense law
  • Active license to practice law and good standing with the applicable state bar
  • Demonstrated ability to appear in court and handle contested hearings, motions, and trials
  • Strong legal writing skills with experience preparing motions, briefs, and related filings
  • Working knowledge of discovery practices and case development in litigation matters
  • Ability to assess facts quickly, build defense strategies, and advocate effectively for clients
  • Experience in civil litigation is valued as an additional area of legal practice exposure
