Job Description:

A leading UK law firm specialising in motoring criminal defence is seeking a Criminal Defence Solicitor for their Manchester office. The firm is well-regarded for its expertise in serious motoring offences, offering high-quality legal representation to private clients (no legal aid). The role involves focusing on motoring defence, serious civil litigation, and prosecutions.

Job Responsibility:

Provide expert legal advice and build robust defences for clients
Manage your own caseload and liaise with barristers
Instruct external counsel for court hearings and collaborate on legal strategy
Conduct legal research and stay updated on relevant laws
Participate in out-of-hours phone support on a rotational basis.

Requirements:

Minimum of 1 year’s experience in motoring law or a similar field, handling your own caseload
Strong communication, negotiation, and IT skills
Experience with Proclaim or similar case management systems
A proactive, client-focused attitude with attention to detail.
