As a Crew Rostering Officer, you’ll play a key role in creating and maintaining efficient rosters for operational staff, ensuring compliance, safety, and service delivery across multiple Aurizon locations.
Job Responsibility
Prepare and manage efficient rosters, including leave rosters, for Operational Staff including Locomotive Drivers and Terminal Staff in line with rostering principles and relevant Enterprise Agreements
Ensure compliance with the Rail Safety Management System, including fatigue risk management and operational readiness
Support crew efficiency through proactive rostering and use of the Crew Rostering Model
Coordinate training and assessment schedules in collaboration with Training and Operations teams
Monitor operational demands and adjust crew deployment, resource allocation, and service plans as needed
Contribute to business improvement initiatives and support the team in meeting performance targets
Requirements
Proven commitment to safety and demonstrated safe working behaviours
Experience in operational rostering, logistics planning and rostering systems, and (ideally) systems testing
Strong administrative and IT skills, including advanced Microsoft Excel and rostering software
Excellent time management, communication, and stakeholder engagement abilities
Flexible, collaborative, and able to remain calm under pressure
