The primary purpose of this position is to safely perform the necessary job duties associated with the operation of the Finger Joint machine. This includes but is not limited to feeding, tailing, learning and assisting operator during changeovers and chopping cutbacks. This is a versatile position within the finger jointer and requires organizational and communication skills and a growing knowledge of all sizes and grades of finger joint blocks and blanks.
Job Responsibility:
Safely perform the necessary job duties associated with the operation of the Finger Joint machine
feeding, tailing, learning and assisting operator during changeovers and chopping cutbacks
Must adhere to all safety rules and regulations
Must strive to achieve maximum lug loading efficiency
Must maintain constant communication and take direction from the rough mill lead, machine operators, and supervision
Must be self-motivated and be able to perform the duties of this position without close supervision
Must maintain excellent housekeeping skills
Must maintain an acceptable attendance record
Requirements:
Completion of the 10th grade and be at least 18 Years Old
Able to effectively communicate orally and in writing
Good hand-eye coordination
Able to read a tape measure and calipers
Nice to have:
Preferably one year experience in a manufacturing setting
Think under pressure, make quick and strategic decisions
Work independently, as well as part of a team, and have flexibility
Show initiative, be a self-starter, and be able to train and coach others
