Wells Fargo is seeking a Credit Risk Senior Manager to serve as a senior risk leader within Transaction Risk Management. This role provides strategic guidance to executive leadership while leading high-impact initiatives that shape risk strategies, strengthen controls, and deliver scalable, data-driven solutions across high-volume channels such as ATM, Mobile Banking, and Branch. This position is ideal for a seasoned credit or transaction risk professional who thrives in complex, fast-moving tactical environments and has experience leading teams, influencing senior stakeholders, and solving enterprise-level risk challenges. The role partners closely with business, technology operations and governance teams to balance customer experience, loss mitigation, regulatory expectations, and business growth.

Job Responsibility

  • Design and implement transaction risk strategies, policies, and controls that translate risk appetite into actionable decisioning and measurable business outcomes
  • Partner with business and product teams to embed risk strategies directly into platforms, workflows, and customer journeys
  • Actively shape strategy tradeoffs across loss, customer experience, operational efficiency, and regulatory expectations
  • Lead hands-on resolution of complex, cross-functional risk problems by diagnosing root causes and designing scalable, durable solutions
  • Own initiatives from strategy formulation through build, rollout, validation, and post-implementation performance tuning
  • Drive coordinated execution across analytics, technology, operations, and governance partners
  • Continuously analyze portfolio performance, customer behavior, fraud patterns, and policy outcomes to refine strategies in production
  • Calibrate rules, models, thresholds, and segmentation to reduce losses, minimize false positives/negatives, and close control gaps
  • Translate insights into concrete strategy changes, pilots, and measurable improvements
  • Build and operationalize risk strategies supporting trillion-dollar transaction volumes, with emphasis on automation, scalability, and real-time decisioning
  • Evaluate, test, and integrate new internal and external data sources into risk strategies and decision frameworks
  • Conduct targeted deep-dive analyses to support strategic decisions, issue resolution, and investment prioritization
  • Manage, mentor, and develop analytical and risk professionals

Requirements

  • 7+ years of Credit Risk experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, or education
  • 3+ years of management or leadership experience, including people leadership, initiative leadership, or senior-level influence across teams

Nice to have

  • Demonstrated experience leading complex risk initiatives with enterprise-level impact
  • Deep experience in advanced analytics, statistical and predictive modeling, and large-scale data analysis in credit, fraud, or transaction risk domains
  • Strong proficiency with SAS, SQL, Python, and data visualization or reporting tools such as Tableau
  • Experience with model governance, analytical decisioning, and real-time or operational risk use cases
  • Ability to translate complex analysis into clear, actionable insights that influence senior and executive decision-making
  • Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., economics, statistics, engineering, data science, finance)
  • Strong attention to detail, data quality, and control discipline in regulated environments
