The Credit Risk Senior Analyst is an intermediate-level position responsible for conducting credit reviews, credit approval and monitoring the portfolio to identify credit migration in coordination with the Risk Management team. The overall objective of this role is to manage Citi's portfolio exposure to clients and counterparties globally.
Job Responsibility
Assess the credit and financial strength of Citi’s most complex Large Corporate Clients by performing fundamental credit analysis of counterparties using both quantitative and qualitative factors
Complete Credit Analysis Write-up Memos and Final Obligor Risk Ratings of Citi’s Counterparties based on independent assessment and judgement completed on the due diligence of the client and industry knowledge to provide appropriate extensions of credit remaining within Risk appetite
Continuous monitoring of the covered portfolio, including following industry trends, impacts to key relationships, and escalation of potential credit issues to Underwriters, Risk and Business partners
Reviewing and providing recommendation on the risk raking across this sector
Partnership with applicable regional and industry stakeholders in Business and Independent Risk in the implementation of credit assessment and monitoring standards for applicable portfolios
Support Voice of the Employee (VOE) initiatives
Travel (less than 10%)
Requirements
Advanced spoken English communication skills are required
Requires 5-7 years of previous credit authority experience, including experience in a regulatory and compliance policy environment
Proven analytical skills, including the ability to understand and assess individual and company financial statements, cash flow, industry/competitive analysis, and projections, particularly for complex business structures with foreign subsidiaries and/or parent organizations
Demonstrated knowledge of intermediate accounting theory and its practical application in the credit underwriting process
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, an ability to prioritize, and the capacity to complete assignments within required deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Effective interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
Thorough problem recognition and resolution skills
A proactive disposition with the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
Proficiency in various spreadsheet and word processing applications (e.g., Excel and Word), including the use of graphs, charts, and financial analysis software
Typically deals with complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where developing an approach or taking action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting needs
Requires strong analytical skills to filter, prioritize, and validate potentially complex material from multiple sources
