The Credit Risk role focuses on analyzing the creditworthiness of individuals and entities, assigning risk ratings, recommending or approving credit extensions or withdrawals, and providing ongoing monitoring of credit exposures. It includes maintaining a balance between risk and return, ensuring credit policies are appropriate, and performing regular in-depth reviews of the credit portfolio. This role manages and mitigates potential credit losses, safeguarding the company's financial stability and supporting sustainable business growth.
Job Responsibility:
Stay updated on industry developments and apply in-depth knowledge to contribute to strategic and proactive risk management planning
provide guidance, review & challenge, and recommendations on credit approvals for an assigned credit portfolio
operate with a limited level of direct supervision and provide autonomous assessment of the accuracy and appropriateness of risk ratings and classifications of the assigned portfolios
assess the quality of the loan portfolio, including the identification and assessment of emerging risks and providing regular feedback on issues and opportunities to senior management
influence decisions and impact projects through advice, counsel, and facilitation in your area of specialization
assess effectiveness of the credit risk processes and standards of the assigned portfolio to promote leading practices and identify opportunities for improvements
utilize advanced analytical skills to filter, prioritize, and validate complex data from multiple sources
effectively communicate and negotiate with internal stakeholders, often at senior levels
provide support in preparing deliverables for internal and external stakeholders, including regulators
make informed business decisions that consider risk assessment, the firm's reputation, and compliance with laws, rules, and regulations.
Requirements:
6-10 years of experience
comprehensive understanding of credit approval processes, risk assessment, creditworthiness evaluation, and risk forecasting
in-depth knowledge of financial markets, banking operations, and the regulatory environment
proven experience in strategic planning, coordinating tasks, and overseeing projects related to credit approval and risk management
proficiency in analyzing complex data, prioritizing critical information, and making informed decisions
excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to articulate ideas clearly and adapt communication styles to suit different audiences
expertise in risk management, identifying potential risks, developing mitigation strategies, and ensuring adherence to banking regulations and compliance requirements
