Job Description:

The Small Business Credit Risk Officer will support the credit policy and strategy analytics team in development, implementation, and management of credit risk strategies and policies. This role includes assessing internal and external data sources for inclusion into policies and lending platform along with model-based decisioning to meet Citi’s risk appetite through multiple delivery channels. Collaborative and project management skills are desirable as the responsibilities are broad and multi-faceted.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop origination and portfolio strategies internally by leveraging data analytics
  • Support Portfolio Risk Manager to optimize risk-return dynamics of the Small Business loan portfolio
  • Develop framework for portfolio risk assessment
  • Understand applicable credit policies, industry regulations and the requisite impact of those governance items to new initiatives
  • Prepare risk management presentations for senior management
  • Tracks and reports all initiatives, emerging trends and opportunities to Portfolio Risk Manager
  • Stay abreast of emerging industry trends in data analytics
  • Perform proactive analytics to assess and support portfolio and origination strategies
  • Proactively identify emerging risks within the portfolio
  • Liaise with key stakeholders
  • Ensure completion of tasks and project timelines
  • Foster as an incubator for innovation

Requirements:

  • 6-10 years of experience in credit risk management in the financial services industry performing quantitative analysis, statistical modeling, and implementation of credit scoring models
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Statistics, or other quantitative field
  • Active role in performing some analytical components of model development
  • Prior experience working in a regulatory and compliance policy environment

Nice to have:

  • Advanced Degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics or Applied Mathematics
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively synthesize, prioritize and drive results with a high sense of urgency
  • Strong communications/presentation skills
  • Ability to obtain support and buy-in across a wide range of stakeholders
  • Thinks strategically and articulates concepts clearly
  • Working knowledge of internal systems such as CI-CDE, and SAS or SQL programming and Microsoft Office
