Job Description:

The role involves underwriting, closing, and securitizing loans while working with the investment banking team, with a focus on the preservation of affordable housing and analysis of various real estate property types.

Job Responsibility:

Create written and oral work products to test financial feasibility and credit worthiness of loans
review due diligence and prepare internal committee packages
process transactions through internal systems to meet regulatory requirements
manage communications among diverse participants
understand and analyze local and national real estate markets
travel to markets in the US for site inspections and training
conduct analysis on special projects
assess risk when business decisions are made and ensure compliance with laws and regulations.

Requirements:

2-4 years relevant experience
loan underwriting or equivalent experience
excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
ability to work well under tight deadlines, manage priorities, and complete tasks with minimal management follow-up
quantitative skills with high proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft-based programs
excellent analytical and computer skills, including the ability to quickly adopt new technology
working knowledge of lending underwriting guides and processes of rating agencies
understanding of real estate concepts such as NOI, cap rates, debt service coverage, property and market risk factors
ability to read, comprehend, and summarize legal documents collected in the due diligence process
working knowledge of loan transaction nuances
ability to travel (20% of the time) on short notice.
