The QC Credit Team Lead focuses on performance management, quality metrics, escalations, and proactive training for QC team; while working to adhere to internal controls to reduce errors and customer complaints.
Job Responsibility:
Executes operational directives and strategy while supporting client delivery SLAs
Collaborates with Pipeline Supervisor on daily production and pipeline and work on forecasting staffing moves to outstanding projects to eliminate any down time
Responsible for the audits and training from the examination of loan reviews completed by DD Credit QC and Underwriting team
Provide real time feedback pertaining to errors and determining corrective actions
Provide procedures and prepare job aids, as required, and address issues that may hinder accuracy, timeliness and or deadlines
Identify trends of errors and escalate to management
Assists with loan review system testing and enhancement
Acts as a subject matter expert on DD credit reviews, assisting with problem solving, issue resolution and loan review guidance
Maintains a high level of confidentiality to protect privacy rights
Adheres to internal controls to reduce errors and customer complaints
Provides coaching, training, and development to staff to ensure company and department goals and key performance indicators (KPIs) are met
Assist in providing guidance on daily matters, such as, questions regarding Underwriting Guidelines and policies and procedures
May perform Credit QC reviews on loans in the pipeline, as needed
May perform any other job-related duties requested by supervisor or leadership
Supervise the DD credit QC team
Responsible the examination of loan reviews completed by DD Credit QC/UW team and developing training for areas of opportunity
Provide real time feedback pertaining to errors and determining corrective actions
Participates in the recruiting, interviewing, and training of new staff
Oversees the daily workflow of the department
Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations
Requirements:
Minimum 5-7 years mortgage underwriting and mortgage quality control within the origination or diligence space
Minimum 2+ years supervisory experience with emphasis on non-agency underwriting and QC desired
Experience in second level reviews
escalations and performance management required
Computer Skills: Working knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
Previous experience with mortgage due diligence software: LauraMac
Understands the credit rating agency requirements, grading and condition clearing processes
Knowledge of USPAP standards, supplemental valuation products and reconciliation
Ability to produce underwriting reports, analyze results, identify issues, and take corrective actions
Strong leadership skills with the ability and experience to manage people
Effectiveness as a team player
Ability to produce quality work and solve problems strategically
Strong analytical and organizational skills
