Job Description:

Citibank, N.A. seeks a Credit Portfolio Senior Officer for its Tampa, Florida location. The role involves reviewing and approving trade and working capital solutions transactions in Latin America (LATAM), analyzing credit profiles, assessing compliance with Product Guidelines, leading key risk projects, and more.

Job Responsibility:

  • Review and approve trade and working capital solutions transactions in Latin America (LATAM) that are within the Global Deal Review (GDR) and Cluster Deal Review (CDR) scope
  • Analyze credit profile of the client including risk rating and classifications
  • Assess compliance with Product Guidelines (PG), and evaluate exceptions and mitigants
  • Lead key Global Treasury and Trade Solutions (TTS) Risk projects and the implementation of initiatives related to policy governance
  • Review and challenge portion of Trade portfolio with Underwriting Terms (UT) and PG exceptions that are below thresholds for TTS Risk approval
  • Analyze the accuracy of TTS Trade Cost of Credit (CoC) and Allowance for Credit Losses (ACL), and act as the TTS Risk Subject Matter Expert (SME) for CoC
  • Identify clients generating large ACL amounts and assess its reasonability under the Trade Current Expected Credit Losses (CECL) models
  • Detect any inconsistencies in the CoC allocated to Trade, and coordinate relevant CoC adjustments with CECL Risk and Finance teams
  • Review and approve deals for the Social Finance (SF) framework, which are guaranteed by multilateral agencies
  • Analyze trade portfolio trends, detect data quality issues, and coordinate with data quality teams for correction
  • Obtain detailed information on each facility and identify authorized products, maximum tenor, tenor sub-limits, and support from parent or other entities
  • Review credit approval documents including annual reviews, financials, credit ratings rationale
  • Monitor credit ratings downgrades to specific clients, review rationale for downgrades, and assess if risk mitigating actions are needed for the Trade portfolio
  • Review new products, initiatives, renewals of existing Product Programs (PAP), and Local Country Addendum (LCA)
  • Assess proposed deviations from global standards to ensure risk is acceptable, and request mitigating controls as needed
  • Prepare CoC and ACL presentations for TTS and TTS Risk Senior Management
  • Identify cases that meet escalation thresholds for TTS Risk Head approval and prepare approval recommendation

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Business Administration, Accounting, Economics or related field and 5 years of experience as a Credit Portfolio Senior Officer, Credit & Portfolio Risk Manager, Operations & Control Manager, Compliance Manager, or related position involving credit risk analysis of financial transactions and financial products in the LATAM market
  • Alternatively, employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in the stated fields and 7 years of the specified progressive post-baccalaureate experience
  • 4 years of experience must include: Credit risk analysis of financial transactions and financial products in the LATAM market
  • Financial statement analysis, including capital structures and repayment priority in distressed scenarios
  • Financial products, including Trade and Working Capital Loans, Core Trade, Receivables Finance, and Payables Finance
  • Current Expected Losses (CECL) methodology and Trade and Working Capital Solutions models including Allowance for Credit Losses (ACL) review
  • Credit analysis of Social Finance (SF) transactions including guarantees provided by multilateral agencies
  • Monitoring and analyzing trends in risk ratings, classification, countries, and industries to identify credit deterioration
  • Assessing reasonability of Cost of Credit (CoC) and Allowance for Credit Losses (ACL), identifying data quality issues, and coordinating data correction
  • Utilizing credit reporting systems
  • Generating tailored reports for specific risks
  • Portfolio management, including assessing risks and implementing risk mitigation controls
  • Reviewing Product Guidelines (PG) and Underwriting Terms (UT) exceptions
  • Reviewing Product Programs (PAP), and Local Country Addendum (LCA), and coordinating changes needed for approval
  • Completing global Corrective Action Plan (CAP) related to Risk processes, and substantiating global CAP completion for auditors
