Job Description:

We are looking for a Credit Oversight Lead Analyst to join our Financial Risk team in Admiral Money. The team sits within the second line risk function and is responsible for providing independent oversight of credit risk across the business.

Job Responsibility:

  • Leading second line credit portfolio monitoring, providing clear insight into performance, trends and emerging risks
  • Designing, maintaining and enhancing credit risk MI, dashboards and early warning indicators to support effective oversight
  • Conducting deep-dive and thematic reviews covering underwriting performance, strategy changes, portfolio segments, arrears, forbearance, concentrations and other key risk topics
  • Providing independent challenge to first line credit and pricing teams on portfolio performance, strategy outcomes and alignment with risk appetite and policy
  • Supporting the monitoring of credit risk appetite metrics and limits, highlighting deteriorating trends, potential breaches and areas of concern
  • Producing high-quality analysis and commentary for risk committees and senior stakeholders, translating complex data into clear, decision-useful insight
  • Working closely with the Senior Credit Risk Manager to support strong credit risk policies, controls and governance
  • Sharing portfolio insight with Impairment teams to support a consistent understanding of credit performance and risk
  • Acting as a senior analytical reference point within the team, coaching others and quality-assuring analytical output where appropriate

Requirements:

  • Experience working in credit risk analytics, ideally within retail or consumer lending
  • Strong analytical and data skills, including experience using SQL and/or Python
  • Proven experience analysing portfolio performance and turning data into clear insight and recommendations
  • A good understanding of core credit risk management techniques, including performance monitoring, segmentation, early warning indicators, and policy or strategy assessment
  • The ability to communicate complex analysis clearly to a range of stakeholders, including senior audiences
  • Experience working with, or providing challenge to, first line credit risk, pricing or portfolio teams

Nice to have:

  • Experience working within a second line risk or oversight function
  • Exposure to secured lending products such as mortgages or motor finance
  • Experience producing analysis or commentary for risk committees or formal governance forums
  • Experience coaching or reviewing the work of others in an analytical environment
  • A naturally curious mindset, with the confidence to explore issues in depth and identify practical actions
