Job Description

Our central finance support function is based in Hull, and we currently have a vacancy for a Group Credit Manager to report to the Finance Operations Director. Job Responsibility

  • Manage credit control team, providing regular support, guidance and setting of performance targets
  • Minimise overdue debt and maximise cash collections
  • Monitor aged debt and ensure risks are within acceptable limits
  • Negotiate/approve payment terms
  • Work closely with sales, finance, legal and senior management
  • Produce Weekly/monthly credit risk reports for the business and management. Focusing on ageing reports, collection performances and bad debt risk
  • Oversee the full provision and debt recovery process. Manage legal actions, payment plans and write offs. Coordinate with external debt collection agency
  • Support on annual audits
  • Oversee smooth process of acquisitions into the central credit control team

Requirements

  • Previous experience of credit management
  • Effective organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to lead and develop a credit control team across multiple entities and regions
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to identify and evaluate financial risks
  • Ability to align credit management with broader business needs
  • Willingness to challenge credit term proposals requested by Sales teams
