The Credit Controller Vice President is a strategic professional who closely follows the latest credit-related trends and adapts them for application within the Controllers organization and their own job. Requires advanced commercial awareness and knowledge of credit reserves, balance sheet accounting, and risk and controls. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence, and convince others, in particular colleagues in the Finance and Credit Risk organizations. Significant impact on the area through complex deliverables at the entity and enterprise level, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function and job family.
Job Responsibility:
Advance the team's analytical capabilities within the Current Expected Credit Losses (CECL) framework
Develop in-depth credit analytics to strengthen the team's ability to engage in critical review and challenge discussions with Risk partners
Analyze drivers of the allowance for credit losses to prepare accurate external disclosures and provide insightful management reporting to senior leadership
Perform daily monitoring of credit actions and assess the impact on CECL to identify emerging trends
Drive process improvements to increase efficiency and strengthen controls
Comply with relevant policies and procedures, including ongoing maintenance of all documentation
Act as trusted advisor to key stakeholders across the Finance and Risk organizations
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency
Requirements:
6-10 years of relevant experience, in banking or financial services preferred
Strong knowledge of technical accounting, with credit reserve experience preferred, data analysis, and financial reporting
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal guidance
High attention to detail and accuracy with a strong controls mindset
Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a complex and dynamic environment
Excellent communication and diplomacy skills to influence others
Advanced Microsoft Office skills
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
